Corn Harvest

Two days of school and one teacher work day are all that come between me and sweet summer vacation! In the meantime, I am enjoying our last days together. On Friday we "harvested" our corn... we walked out to the garden, pulled up the entire corn stalk and then found the ear of corn on each plant. My students were amazed at how such a tall plant could grow from a tiny seed. They LOVED the corn and even ate it RAW, right off the cob! They took a lot of pride in their harvest and this is definitely a project I will do again next year.

This came from a seed?

About Me

Kate
I have spent 7 years in pre-K, kindergarten and first grade classrooms in various kinds of school systems. I truly feel teaching is a calling and not everyone is meant to be in the classroom. If you feel that undeniable fire to teach, I am here to help make your planning go more smoothly by creating tailor-made resources. One of the greatest aspects of teaching is the collaboration that happens between new and veteran teachers. I hope to continue to make an impact on the teaching world through my new TPT store and ideas on this blog. Thanks for stopping by!
